To attempt to break the stalemate in Bataan General Kimura sent elements of the 20th infantry regiment to outflank Wainwright by landing at Caibob Pt. 5 miles south of Bagac. The landing was a shambles. American torpedo boats dispersed the force. The survivors drifted to Quinauan and further south at Longoskawayan Pt. The Naval and 3rd Pursuit Battalions were sent to contain the forces near Mariveles. The larger Japanese force at Quinauan Pt. immediately dug in and were not eliminated until a Battalions the 45th Phillipine Scouts with armor support overran them with heavy losses. On January 26 a company of the 20th infantry was dispatched to land at Quinauan to reinforced their besieged forces. Again the landing was a fiasco. They landed at Anyasan Pt. and were met by the heavily entrenched 17th Pursiut battalion and were decimated. Later that day the 2nd/ 57th Phillipine scouts drove the last Japanese into the sea, ending the battle of the points.
