In Site Of The Volga - Advance of the Reich

Based on ASL VoTG Scenario 18.//The Germans made their big push to reach the Volga on the 14th of September. In response, the Russians sped up their timetable to bring reinforcements across the river. The 13th Guards Rifle Division was ordered to cross immediately, even though thousands of soldiers were without rifles. As evening fell across the city, the Germans made one last attempt to secure key structures. Two in particular were the Brewery & State Bank. The stout structures had a clear view of the Volga from their top floors - during daylight, German MG's could rain down bullets on the ships trying to cross. Knowing the importance of the two buildings, Russian commander Chuikov threw the men of the 13th Guards straight into the line as they disembarked from the ferries. The line held - just barely. The German will get VPs from capturing the 6 building hexes as well as exiting units off the map.
