The French lost a staggering 200 guns in 25 turns, something of a record. The French moved the Northern Army over the river, blowing the bridges as they went. This gave a heavy superiority in the south. The army was badly disrupted by heavy allied attacks, and the allies in a strong defensive position. However the allied losses combined with the huge VP required made winning the game almost impossible.
