By points, it was an Axis major victory. But it was much closer than the point result showed. My Thule regiment was moving through Kharkov at precisely the right time, moving from the southwest to reinforce the GD Division north of Kharkov. If Thule would have arrived a turn later, Soviet ski troops would have moved into western Kharkov unopposed. A turn earlier, and Thule would have passed through Kharkov and deployed with the GD Division, and once again ski troops would have been unopposed. My Germans were very lucky in this scenario, and I learned lessons about maintaining a reserve, even if sections of the front are very hard pressed. Warren's flank march with the ski troops was remarkable. The ski troops weren't spotted until they were in the western suburbs of Kharkov.
