Joe probably should have fallen back from the initial front lines as soon as his forces were released by contact. I was able to eliminate a lot of good Guard infantry units as a result. He failed to guard the southern front so that when right flank Axis forces released it was easy for me to rush to take Bickse (hex 49,55). Now my mistakes: I should know by now (16 years of playing the series) to NOT bombard towns on a major road net. In this game there was enough RUBBLE to fill New York City! ROFL I had to clear RUBBLE from more than one key location. Otherwise I know I could have gotten through with more units to the front lines in the center. The northern flank was very quiet for most of the game. I should have blown a key bridge earlier, had to race an engineer unit over to do it before Joe's Russian hordes arrived on his right flank. It didn't matter. When they did arrive they were across the river so fast and swept across the northern flank clear to Komarno. I had already evacuated all of my units from the northern side of the map (except for the Komarno garrison). By then the situation was over in the center and south and Joe surrendered on turn 42 of 64. Had the Russians held out in the south and reinforcements arrived sooner in the north things would have been different. Note: I fed all of my German reinforcements in the north down to the central part of the map. In that way I was able to overwhelm the Russians in the center.
