The French start on a major defeat so have to attack. They have a lot of D grade infantry units. The allies have a huge number of guns, many in forts. And a load of cavalry. The southern flank of the allies is protected by a creek.
The French won this scenario but lost the entire Guard, making any progression in the campaign almost impossible. Had the game started as a Draw it would have been much better.
