The Prussians start on a major defeat. They have to advance some distance in order to capture objectives whilst keeping losses low and inflicting heavy losses on the French. The French can employ delaying tactics. In the end casualties were about even and it was the objective hexes which decided the outcome.
Prussians have to push hard to score enough points to achieve victory. Either they have to take the victory hexes, or smash the French severely enough to make up for them. In this game, the Prussians were unable to punch through.
