The scenario has potential to be very exciting, but the way we battled this time meant it became a boring stalemate at the river. Being part of a campaign, neither side was willing to take chances which might result in the loss of valuable forces which would be missed in later encounters.
Indeed. Had it been a single battle, the French may have been more aggressive. But economy of force is essential in campaign games.
