Here is a map that I came up with as a test map for a tourny that I am working on. Just one thing led to another a soon this map was complete, even though I never intended to do so. 3 Large flages, 3 small flags on a map taken from Google Earth in Hungary. I managed to find a 699m LOS and several at well over 400m. Protected setup zones for both sides, fairly open terrain in the centre.

It is a large map for QB, but has plenty of options for maneuver. If you like cat and mouse games! Add snow and make it a winter wonderland or try a heavy fog. May be too restricted for a 5000 point force, unless you buy mounted infantry. A 3000 point may be perfect for this one.

Let me know what you think. If someone would like to add pics of it please do so. I work with a Vista graphics blink at the edges and makes it hard to get a picture without the blur in the horizon...

Sick of the computer generated, illogical maps? Here is a fictional map for the rural steppe area around Kharkov. For you larger force guys this will hold your 5000 point needs or be fine for a 3000 point recon/probe game... Would work for Spring/Summer of '42 or the winter battles of February/March '43.

Some wooded areas surrounded by large open steppe. Nestled in the lovely countryside is a small industrial complex supported by several small villages. Plenty of room for tanks and rapid movement and lots of area for masses of infantry.

I realized thyat there has not been a new map added here for a little while so this will have to do. A couple of screenshots of a 1600m x 2400m cmbb map. The flags have been repositioned by Herroberst and I believe Leto to positions that they thought would improve play. The map was inspired by an old tabletop map that I used several years ago and is a general representation of a small isolated Russian village serviced by rail only. There are 1800 points in flags placed, so the forces used should be this level and above. The intention was to allow a 2000 or so point game to be played on a large map to provide lots of room to move around. If you play with more points, you might want to double up some of the flags by adding more large flags and placing them on top of the others. The other thing that I am trying out is making maps that do not try to have equal terrain features. My thoughts are that some battles are not fair and the players will and should choose forces based on what they have to deal with as far as terrain. There are some rather long LOS ranges possible and the hills are low. The rail line is elevated for it's full length. Make sure you are careful in your setup as there are some places that can see well into the other setup zone.
Hope you guys like it, any feedback would be welcomed.

For anyone interested, this is the map that the Bootcampers are playing each other on. Setup zones are rather close so there is the potential for some quick action. Four large flags and enough cover to hold a battalion of infantry.

I call this map DK City - it starts out at the edges with small shacks and as it gets towards downtown the buildings get larger. The other feature is the city is laid out in a uniform grid with LOS from one side to the other so it should make for some good cat-and-mouse AFV action between buildings.

Below: view downtown from the south - if LOS is thought too long then it could be played in fog and rain.
