Hello Civil War 2 community,

I am still playing with friends actively Civil War II. Over time, we’ve noticed a number of small things that could be improved, so I started modding the game for our sessions.

Naturally, I wanted to share my work with everyone. But I also wanted to make sure the mod would remain available for a long term, hopefully permanently. Unfortunately, many mods posted on the ageod-forum have been lost over time.

To solve this, I requested that Nexusmods add Civil War II to their site, and they approved Civil War II! I’ve already uploaded my mod "Gunray's Civil War II Enhancement Mod", and we have also the great mod "The Blood and Thunder" on Nexus.

I hope this can become a place to host not only new mods, but also to preserve older ones that are no longer available.

You can find the NexusMods page here:
Merchant squadrons can only be stacked together in the trade boxes if escorted by a warship squadron, then the limit is 3 merchant squadrons.

This will make the naval game much more active and historical, the merchant squadrons represent thousands of historical merchantmen.

Only Britain can afford to create their historical convoys system and escort ships but it will require using resources and it will need to keep watch for French/ Alliance raiders.

Naval batteries cant be placed outside of the fortress/city in the off map boxes.

But they can be separated to separate stacks to create independent batteries within the same fortress/city.

This will help especially Britain taking out the French/Alliance colonies without having to make unhistorical opposed landings under coastal battery fire.

ok, I am a bit behind the infamous KGbooboo in getting started, but here I am.

Starting situation: My protestants are in revolt. I hold Prague and start with Pilsen under siege. I have good leaders and good troops but am outnumbered and will face numbers and resource problems for the foreseeable future. My goal is to survive the first few years.

First few turns--the Holy Roman Empire (HRE), basically Austrians at this point, come out after me faster than I expected. I get pushed back from my siege of Budweiss and have to raise the siege of Pilsen, which will hurt because I need its resources. Budweiss would also have given me god stuff.

I eventually stabilize my situation, with my main army falling back on Prague, my capitol and send an infantry unit with a supply unit to siege Pilsen for the winter. I eventually capture it and now get more money over time.

The first full year 1619: My army is strengthened and I feel like, while I am still outnumbered, I am no longer at a huge disparity. I screen the HRE force in Budweiss and prepare for a new region to open up, to the east, with Brunn as the key city. I then move some cavalry into Brunn immediately in order to trigger the creation of a few large Protestant infantry units. The HRE cavalry moves in and wins. Over the next few turns I fail to take Brunn. Then I use some EP to get a large force of Hungarian cavalry and in July I destroy the HRE cavalry force and take Brunn. But it is too late to fire the event to get the troops. On the other hand, my main army delivers to crushing defeats to the main HRE force. My cohesion is too low to risk pursuit of a force that I now only barely outnumber.

Currently, it is October and my main army is taking on replacements and troops activated by the King of Bohemia event in Prague and I think the HRE main army is in Budweiss licking its wounds. BUT, the Hungarian's have moved to take Vienna under siege...

Thought I would try my hand at an AAR in hopes of generating a bit more interest. This won't be a detailed thing as I'm still learning the details myself but hopefully a big picture thing.

Spent the first months sending troops to relieve the siege of Budweiss and then hunkered down in Linz for the winter, where I had built a depot. My big worry is keeping up with my supplies so as to not lose more of my army to attrition than combat. I did get some desperately needed monetary assistance from the Spaniards and the Pope. Hope they keep that up! Spring has come with the mud but the pesky Protestant heretics had snuck in and taken Brun with just a Dutch cavalry regiment so we had to put some troops on the move to persuade those lads that they might like the brothels in Amsterdam better. Moving supply wagons up to Linz so to have enough grub and bullets to accompany the army when we get clear weather.

Promise to provide more details and some screenshots next time as I'm doing this a bit off the cuff today.
