For the Senussi “icons2D” file I used the one for the “Arab” nation (with the counter colour changed back to that for the Ottomans) as a basis as I wanted to use a middle eastern headdress rather than a helmet as the “loaded” indicator, and made this white as opposed to the red and white check of the original file.

So I'm new to scenario making but my goal is as much realism as possible. The past few weeks I have been churning out my own limited work for this mod, which first of all I believe is absolutely amazing and wish to offer my absolute gratitude to the modders for making the WWI mod available. The first scenario I created is related to the Senussi Campaign in Libya in 1915. I created corresponding OOBs and the map is based off of scaled to earth Google earth images. All the maps I will post have been made that way. The maps I have available are just south of Zum el Rakkham west of Mersa Matruh 10 Km x 5 Km, and three maps of the battlefield at Tannenburg at 10 Km x 10 Km. I tried my best to make these as accurate as possible when it comes to development. I know they are not perfect, but they are a start, and anyone is welcome to edit them and any scenarios for further accuracy. I find accuracy important, but these were made fairly quickly so feel free to comment and we can work on them together. I love this mod and I simply want to improve by more gameplay especially in the more mobile warfare of the eastern front and the middle east. Enjoy!!!
Am trying to go through all these, most of the scenario's were done a long time ago, and most weren't tested, the objective values in most if not all need adjusted, to compensate for the loss of men needed to take them. Also, redoing descriptions to notify whether EA should be used. In the WW1 Mod, EA is a no-no in any scenario with bunkers, or improved positions in a town, village or building hex, they are almost impervious.

Hi Mike
I have been having an explore in the WW1 Mod's order of battle editor and can see that it includes a really extensive range of individual weapon types including some equipment that did not quite make it onto the battlefield in time to be used by 11th November 1918 so that there a plenty of scope for plan 1919 type scenarios here.

Most of the weapon/ equipment types available are self explanatory, however there are a few where things are not so clear cut and it would be helpful if you could confirm if my hunches are correct hear.

1.Fortress Guns = Are these none mobile and do they come with armoured copulas that have to be placed on bunkers?
2.Machine Gun strongpoint = are these effectively none mobile hard target units and can other units enter then?
3.Dug out (15cm Shell Proof) = Are thee set up to work like none mobile APC's that infantry and weapons units can load or unload from and can they fire out of them when inside?
4.Explosive Flat Wagon = How does one use these ?
5.Also while details the on map reconnaissance aircraft are given those available for scenario designers for airstrikes are not, could we perhaps at some point have an aircraft list document similar to those provided for the West Font & East Front games?

Also I do think it would be better to have the majority of HQ units in the game represented by pack horses or similar animals as my guess is this is what the equivalent battalion and brigade trains in most formations in all armies would have actually used in most cases.

Kind regards

Hi All!

At long last, I'm happy to announce a World War One Mod is being made available to you all who

are interested!!

Many years ago, I believe it was 2005, Paul Adaway came up with this mod based on West Front.

He enlisted the help of the following:

Wyatt Kappely
Mike Amos
Chris Mee
George Smithson
Rod Coles
Huib Versloot
Mark Mcdougall
Gary Tiger21(??)
Chema(??)
Andrew (no last name)
Erik (no last name)

We worked on it for quite a time, then after awhile it just kind of fizzled out. I tinkered with it on

and off as time allowed updating graphics and with the help of Wyatt made a few more advances. I

tried to get in touch with Paul over the years to no avail, to see if he had any interest in continueing

this work, as I thought it was fascinating!

A little while ago, I was burning to play against someone, and having made a few scenario's

decided to only make it available to a few friends I could trust to not let it out, and we have been

playing a team game and scenario's amongst ourselves for a few months.

Out of the blue today, who of all people responded to a PM I had sent out long ago, but Paul

Adaway himself!! He told me to go ahead and release it with his blessing, to which I was thrilled,

no longer feeling like I couldn't let this out without his ok, as a matter of honor. I ran the idea past

my Chief of operations, Jason Petho, to see if it was ok to release, as I didn't want to overstep any

bounds with future game developement, and he ok'd it as well, so here it is!

The campaign generator works, as well as the battle generator, and there are quite a few scenario's

as well. I sincerely hope you all enjoy this game as much as I do and start PBEM'ing the heck out

of it. Gas is fired, if available, by hitting the ALT button while in plot mode. Artillery is not very

accurate, so be very careful how close you plot to your own lines! Observation Balloons are the

key to accuracy, so any scenario design should include a few of these each side. They do not

move, but have a heght advantage to see out to full visability.

The UI is the old interface, I'm afraid, I can't update it as I'm no programmer, and since there are

gas and other routines involved, I can't update it to 2.02 standard as my Korean War, but this game

rocks!!

Download this into your Matrix Games\John Tillers Campaign Series structure, so it will be C:

\Games\Matrix Games\John Tiller's Campaign Series\WW1 v1.1. You will find three mods in the

mods folder to use with JSGME which is in the game, they are 3D textured terrain, 2D terrain, and

water.

Country's included are-
00 Allied Russian Empire
01 Axis German Empire
03 Axis Austro-Hungarian Empire
04 Axis Ottoman Empire (Turkey)
05 Axis Ukrainia
