Winter means more CM - any tourneys on the way?

I see there have not been any official tourneys for a couple of years. Since we are heading into the winter months, is there any effort to develop one?

Since we seem to have trouble finishing tournaments here at the Blitz, how would players who really enjoy tournaments(I'm one of them) feel about an entry fee per Tournament?Just off the top of my head,lets say a 25$ entry fee per player.Twelve players x $25 = $300. 25% goes to the winner, in this case $75.$150 goes to the the tournament manager and the remaining $75 goes to the Blitz.This should be proper motivation for all involved.

Is this a horrible idea?

RULES

*****

- No pre planned artillery strike
- No rockets (not at all)

But if the two player agreed to use special rules of their own like the blitz rules or any force limitation , it's fine with me.

Choosing side
***********

Who play wich side is a choice left to the players.

But if two players want the same side , they will make a bet.

Send me a secret MP with a number between 50 and 200.
The player who bet the higher number win the side , BUT this number will be substract of the final score !
If two player bet the same points , the first to bet win the side.

Of course you can play mirror IF the two players agreed.

Ladder

You must record all games on ladder.

General settings
*************

- number of players : at least 8 , max 16.
- deadline for a turn : 8 weeks.
- tournament tree with direct elimination.

delay and desertion

- If a player dissapear , i take back instead a previously eliminated player for a second chance in the next turn.
- If 2 Player don't finish at the deadline. If we can't find quickly a guilty slow player , it will be a double elimination.
Not cool , but a tournament who don't run FAST is a dead tournament. No pity at the deadline !

The Storm in the East Tournament - Round 3

Gentlemen,

It's my pleasure to announce the start of the third round of the Storm in the East tournament. For this round a new map will be used - an allied attack this time - which can be found here .

Either go to the scenario's page and click Download or download it from this direct link . Once you download it, copy the btt file in the Game Files\Scenarios folder [usually c:\Users\\Documents\Battlefront\Combat Mission\Red Thunder\Game Files\Scenarios], start the game and locate the 'Storm In the East 2' entry under 'Battles'.

Please pay special attention you are starting the game using the second map - named Storm In the East 2, rather than the first one (Storm In the East 1).

Very important! Since the final ranking of the first phase will be computed based on the number of points you gain at the end of the game, you might wish you refrain from surrendering even if the battle doesn't go your way. Surrendering will award your opponents all the points for the land objectives!

HMG apparently decided to drop out from the tournament, thus his place has been taken by A Canadian Cat.

A quick remainder about the workflow:
The allied player is the one who will start the setup and send the first turn to his axis opponent.
The games are to be played using 'Iron' as skill level,unless otherwise agreed.
The game will count as an on-ladder game and will be reported just like a regular game unless you otherwise agree with your opponent.

Very important! When you finish your game, please write down the final score and post it in this forum thread!

The Storm in the East Tournament - Round 1

Gentlemen,

Here are the groups for The Storm in the East Tournament. The players have been split into groups of 5 players; each player will play in the groups phase two games as the axis and two as the allied. The first two players with the best scores computed at the end of the groups phase will advance to the next phase of the tournament.

As i'm sure you will notice not all of you will play in the first round. There will be a total of 5 rounds in the first phase, with each player pausing for a round, for a total of 4 games for each player. The second round will start on the 15th of May!

The Storm in the East CMRT Tournament starts! [sign-up closed!!!]

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen!

If you’re looking for something exciting, then you’ve come to the right place! We are pleased to present the CMRT "Storm In The East" Tournament! If you're interested in taking part, please post below!

Structure:
The users who signup will be split into groups of 5 players. In the first phase, each player will play four games - two as axis, two as allies, on two maps. Each player will score points, based on the numbers reported at the end of the game. At the end of the four rounds, the first 2-3 players (depending on the number of groups) will advance to the second phase. The second phase will consist of mirrored knocked-out games, until we'll have a winner of the tournament.

Dates:
14-25 of April - The signup period
25th April - Phase 1 -> Round 1
15th May- Phase 1 -> Round 2
15th June- Phase 1 -> Round 3
15th July- Phase 1 -> Round 4

Drop-outs:
If an opponent drops-out from the tournament, the player will be awarded a victory. The points awarded for the victory will be the average points scored of the games reported as victories.

The games are to be played using 'Iron' as skill level,unless otherwise agreed.
The games will count as ladder-games, unless otherwise agreed.
Pre-planned artillery strikes on the setup zones are not allowed.
