			<description><![CDATA[Played out the 12 turn 004 "Battle Ridge" (Custer's final stand) scenario using A/I only (both sides). Natives got hammered. The scenario header recommends Human vs. Native A/I but that's probably not going to work at all since the Native A/I couldn't make any headway against the Cavalry A/I. Tried it for a few turnes as Natives vs. Cavalry A/I but got turned off by the lack of hot keys. Can't get a visual on weapons range nor reachable hexes. Counters don't show weapons strength either; though I guess it's easy to figure that a Spencer is better than a <span style="color: #131313;" class="mycode_color"><span style="font-size: small;" class="mycode_size"><span style="font-family: Roboto, Arial, sans-serif;" class="mycode_font">tomahawk</span></span></span>. 			<description><![CDATA[Just recently bought MAW and FIW  along with some other non EAW titles in a bulk Christmas deal at WDS.<br />

Had a few thoughts.<br />
<br />
(1)I wanted to make Melee in particular more brutal where larger casualties are caused, prefer Attacker to cause more Casualties than the Defender too. How can I do this? Is there a variable for Cavalry Melee value ,or is that tied to the Cavalry Fire adjustment?<br />
<br />
(2)In a similar vein I wanted Fire Combat to cause more casualties ,particularly Artillery. How can I do this? I assume the Fire Values for different weapons I can increase to achieve my goal ,but what about artillery. Or are artillery part of these different weapon codes(A to Z for example)?Is there a list of which code corresponds to which weapon ,I can surmise the shorter range guns that fire up to 4 squares are musket type weapons so I could adjust these from this knowledge alone.<br />

(3)I wanted to add more cavalry into a few scenarios in MAW and FIW. What do I need to do to achieve this? I had a go adding Artillery and Infantry using the Scenario editor and found that worked OK as a trial since they were present in the OOB(I assume) that appears when a scenario is opened. Wanted cavalry though ,in some scenarios like in FIW the cavalry is described as Aides but I did not see them in this Unit Dialogue box that first opens in Scenario editor.<br />

(4)I have made a basic 2d Counter Mod that I will share for MAW. It basically adds torso style miniature pictures instead of the stock standard little infantry figures. Was not quite sure of the Grid Dimensions in MAW but it looks OK.<br />

Both games are fun as is but I always like to changes things around for a bit of entertainment.<br />

			<description><![CDATA[Alright, so I've progressed onto a second game of 1776 in an attempt to grasp this system.  This scenario is a little more wide open than Bunker Hill, more space for maneuver and less of the expected routes as it were.  So, we're almost 10 turns in and combat is just starting to happen and I'm noticing that units in column can melee with no apparent penalty (am I seeing that correctly)?  Dare I ask if they also receive the 10% bonus for not firing before melee since they're in column?  Also I have noticed that even when firing into the flank and rear of units in column they are not marked as enfiladed, that only seems to happen to units in line or extended formation.  Is that also normal?]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[Playing my first battle of 1776 - we went with Bunker Hill (the a version which is the historical one).  The combat seems particularly (and unrealistically) bloody to me.  For context, we're at the mid-way point (turn 12 complete) and it has been conducted essentially along historical lines.  The Colonials have stayed on their hills behind their embankments and fences, while the British have advanced both directly against Breeds Hill and along the northern coast road.  Little to no melee combat has occurred, this has been very much a line up and shoot at each other affair so far.  Through the end of 12 turns the Colonials have suffered slightly less than 1300 casualties and the British have suffered slightly more than 900.  To begin with I would think the attacker would suffer higher losses than the defender (in most games that is so).  The rate of loss for the British seems to be on a path for being slightly higher than historical (call it 125% for argument), but the Colonials seem to be on a path for 250% of historical. <br />

I think that if Colonial Era combat had 100 men dropping every 5 minutes the battles would have been much more decisive than they were, so my question is:  "Is what we're seeing typical"?  If other people don't experience these type of fire results then I'll have to conclude that perhaps one or some combination of the optional rules we selected could be contributing.  I appreciate any input anyone might have who has some experience with the game.]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[Playing my first battle of 1776 - we went with Bunker Hill (the a version which is the historical one).  The combat seems particularly (and unrealistically) bloody to me.  For context, we're at the mid-way point (turn 12 complete) and it has been conducted essentially along historical lines.  The Colonials have stayed on their hills behind their embankments and fences, while the British have advanced both directly against Breeds Hill and along the northern coast road.  Little to no melee combat has occurred, this has been very much a line up and shoot at each other affair so far.  Through the end of 12 turns the Colonials have suffered slightly less than 1300 casualties and the British have suffered slightly more than 900.  To begin with I would think the attacker would suffer higher losses than the defender (in most games that is so).  The rate of loss for the British seems to be on a path for being slightly higher than historical (call it 125% for argument), but the Colonials seem to be on a path for 250% of historical. <br />
