Implications of 'Out of Command'?
Curious... if a battalion HQ is 'Out of Command' at the start of your turn and you plan to make an attack on an enemy unit with that particular HQ's subordinate units, will the HQ's out of command status have any influence on the combat results for an attack or assault during that turn? For example being disrupted?

Or will the HQ's out of command status only have an affect/influence AFTER the turn? Meaning subordinate units more likely to be out of ammo/fuel at the start of the next turn?

Disrupted HQs have their command range halved. (Broken HQs have a range of zero.)

Yes you are correct, if the assaulting units have avoided the effects of their parent HQ being out of command then there will be no effect on the assault results.

As noted a disrupted HQ has a shorter command range, but as long as the units are still within that reduced command range there will be no effects, I am thinking particularly about FWWC where being out of the command range drops a units morale by one level.

What it means is that your Brigade commander has failed his morale check. This has nothing to do with being disrupted. He still has his full command radius (usually 3 hexes for infantry, longer for cav and armor). There is a string of comand checks strting at Army-Corps-Division-Brigade. If you have good command structure, your Brigade commander will have usually passed his command check. Most Brigade commanders are rated C or D but sometimes, and rarely, are rated higher like Petain (A) in France 14. Whatever negative effects have accrued are already in effect; usually meaning that the units under his command have not rallied. If they have, and are in good order, then any attacks you initiate will be successful or not depending solely upon the units involved. When your next turn comes the process begins anew. If he remains out of command next turn, your disrupted units will have difficulty re-ordering.  jonny  Propeller Hat
