WON 1vs1 PBEM
Looking for a British/Coalition player to try out these of house-rules for WON 1vs1 PBEM.

Deep knowledge of AGEOD games/game engine and/or Napoleonic Wars is preferred.

These house rules have Peninsular War and Russia ending the game as part of the Coalition
scripted in.

Control over the Major Nations

Great Britain or France control all other Major Nations in the game, Russia, Austria, Prussia, Spain and the Ottomans.

Great Britain will always control Russia, Austria and Prussia, it can also gain control of Spain and the Ottomans during the game.

France can only control Spain and the Ottomans and can lose their control over to Britain during the game.

Great Britain and France can have Limited or Full Control over the other Major Nations.

Limited Control is the minimum level of control that you get from the game start over the Major Nations if they are not part of the Coalition/Britain or Alliance/France.

Limited Control allows Construction Mode, purchasing of Replacements, issuing orders, moving and manipulating stacks within your own territory, moving fleets between your own harbors, issuing of Military Reforms, Decrees and the Regional Decisions cards.

Limited Diplomatic Actions

You can only send, accept or reject the following Diplomatic Actions when having Limited Control over the the Major Nation.

Accept Entry in Alliance/Coalition

Propose/Accept Entry in an Defensive Treaty to a Minor Nation

Propose to Receive an Expeditionary Force/Fleet from a Minor Nation

Propose State Visit

Propose Trade Agreement

Forge Casus Belli

Offer Peace

A Major Nation under Limited Control that is invaded by either Coalition/Alliance is moved under Full Control of the opposing Coalition/Alliance.
Note that attacking overseas colonies of Spain will not count as invasion of Spain proper.

If a Minor Nation with a Defensive Treaty with a Major Nation under Limited Control is invaded by either Coalition/Alliance the Major Nation is moved under Full Control of the opposing Coalition/Alliance.

Note that Scripted Events can bring Major Nations under Full Control before the Relationship Rating has reached the required level for the "Offer Entry in an Alliance/Coalition" Diplomatic Action.

Full Control is the highest level of control you get trough an "Offer Entry in an Alliance/Coalition" Diplomatic Action or trough scripted event (for example Russia and Austria in 1805 at the start of the War of the Third Coalition).

Full Control allows the use of the Construction Mode, purchasing Replacements, issuing orders, moving and manipulating stacks/fleets without limitations, all Diplomatic Actions and the issuing of Military Reforms, Decrees and the Regional Decisions cards.

When a Scripted Peace Treaty ( Pressburg and Schönbrunn for Austria, Tilsit for Prussia and Russia, Bucharest for Ottomans) is activated by the conditions being met it must be played and accepted by both sides in that turn.

Note that by default the game assumes that Coalition/Britain and Alliance/France are always at war.

When a Major Nation as a member of the Coalition/Britain agrees to a Peace Treaty (scripted or using the diplomatic interface) as the losing party against Alliance/France it must exit the Coalition by ending their membership in the Coalition using the in game diplomatic interface but remains under the Limited Control of Coalition/Britain.

The Coalition/British player must release Expeditionary Forces from the Major Nation in question to the Alliance/French player when requested trough the Diplomatic Interface but otherwise the Major Nation remains under the Limited Control of Coalition/Britain.

The Expeditionary Force requested by the Alliance/France from the Major Nation in question is limited to a maximum size of 14 line infantry elements, 2 cavalry elements, 6 field artillery elements.
This size is an average based on the historical treaties France made with Austria and Prussia.

Note that Russia is not under this rule and has it own Faction Specific Rules.

When a Major Nation underAlliance/French Full or Limited Control agrees to a Peace Treaty (scripted peace treaty or using the diplomatic interface) as the losing party against the Coalition/Britain the Major Nation in question is transferred under the Limited Control of Coalition/Britain.

Major Nations under Alliance/French control (Spain or Ottomans) must agree to a peace treaty offered by the Britain/Coalition after their NM (National Morale) is <75 and their Capital is occupied by Coalition forces.

Note that Spain has the in game National Modifier "Fanatiscm" and occupation of their capital has little effect on their will to resist invasion, invasion of Spain proper also triggers the Spanish Army Reforms.

Note that invading Spain proper is not in the interest of the Coalition/British player, there is a large number of scripted events that assume France will invade Spain at some point of the game, but these house rules leave the option to invade open.

Faction specific rules

France

France must play the following Annexation Events (Hannover, Oldenburg, Holland, Tuscany, Papacy, Catalonia, ) in order to win the game.

This rule basically guarantees a Peninsular War as the Catalonia annexation event assumes war between Spain and France, the Tuscany and Papacy annexation events degrade the Relationship Rating,-100 (hate) to +100 (very friendly), between Spain and France working as as a lead up to the conflict.

France must end the potential Ottoman membership in the Alliance if the Treaty of Tilsit event fires between Russia and France.

Russia

Russia must Declare War (DOW) on Britain if the Treaty of Tilsit event fires but it does not have to join the Alliance or engage in acts of war against Britain other than by issuing DOW using the Diplomatic Interface.

This rule allows for Russia to annex Finland from Sweden using the Annexation of Finland event in the game.

Russia does not have to give an Expeditionary Force at the request of France like Austria and Prussia.

These represent the historical situation where Russia allied with France and was at war with Britain after Tilsit but never lived up to the expectations of Napoleon I and the Tilsit treaty by truly joining the Alliance and the Continental System.

Russia is free to end the state of war with Britain and Britain/Coalition will automatically restore Full Control over Russia if France plays the Annexation of Oldenburg event.

This rule basically guarantees a continuation of war between France and Russia as France needs to play the Annexation of Oldenburg event to win the game.

Ottomans

Ottomans will be transferred under Coalition/Britain Limited Control if the Empire Reform event fails.

Recommended game mechanic related rules for the off map boxes.

Merchant squadrons can only be stacked together in the trade boxes if escorted by a warship squadron, then the limit is 3 merchant squadrons.

This will make the naval game much more active and historical, the merchant squadrons represent thousands of historical merchantmen.

Only Britain can afford to create their historical convoys system and escort ships but it will require using resources and it will need to keep watch for French/ Alliance raiders.

Naval batteries cant be placed outside of the fortress/city in the off map boxes.

But they can be separated to separate stacks to create independent batteries within the same fortress/city.

This will help especially Britain taking out the French/Alliance colonies without having to make unhistorical opposed landings under coastal battery fire.

RE: WON 1vs1 PBEM
The scenario is January 1805, it is the most polished and also gives the most freedom for both sides to plan their strategy for the War of the Third Coalition that is scripted in the game to start.

WON Public Beta patch February 24th - 2017
http://www.ageod-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=375&t=50119

It also gives time for the Major Nations under Limited Control of Britain and France to engage in their own diplomacy towards the Minor Nations under AI control and start working to get their armies/fleets under British/French control.

Sweden is important for Britain, Denmark for France etc

For example Ottomans are weak and neutral at game start and Britain might consider taking them out and under their control, as the house-rules suggest is possible.

But Russia is not yet under Full Control, so they would have to go at it alone.
Landing near Bosporus can easily turn in to the first Gallipoli and attacking the forts will have a good chance to turn out like the historical Dardanelles operation.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dardanelles_operation

Ottomans cant get allied to France and under their Full Control for a long time using diplomacy so a Coalition attack is a potential gift to France giving them Full Control over the Ottomans.
Ottomans will also bring with them their North African vassals from Egypt to Barbary States turning the Mediterranean theater even more challenging for the British.

This is an example how these house-rules work to provide an historically guided but still plausible open ended game.

RE: WON 1vs1 PBEM
Here are the settings we use, the house-rules are in the first post.

We have also changed the siege combat rules from the game settings files so that you need a breach to assault a fort and disabled the auto-garrisons.
This will benefit both depending on the theater and time and will add a lot of realism.

War at Sea
[Image: Batavian-Frigates.jpg]

Request to turn over control of the Dutch fleet has been sent, will try to re-base most of them to Antwerp.
Antwerp will become a major hub of naval construction and the main naval base north of the English Channel.

The French frigates and brigs based in Boulogne will also try to break out and move there, the Boulogne landing fleet will stay in Boulogne for now.

Most light units from the main naval bases and fleets are sent on patrols, commerce raiding and scouting missions.

The French and Dutch fleets in the Indian Ocean will wait for orders after there is some understanding what the British strategy will be in this theater.

Land War

One new infantry division being formed for V Corps as a replacement for Oudinot who will form his Grenadier division as a reserve division directly under the Emperor.
