ACW mod for 2d counters
ACW mod for 2d counters
,tested on Forgotten Campaigns.

It is Work in Progress. I think I like Alternative 1 the most (single man) and Alternative 2 (mono) is OK.  the 3rd alternative is pretty weak ,just putting up as an idea.

Some screenies ,brief description-

Line Units have 1 man rather than 2.

RE: ACW mod for 2d counters
This Mod is for the Alternative Unit Graphics.

I did not really like the vanilla 2men view and wanted something different.

I am going to rework this and make another alternative as well but thought maybe other users may be interested to see what I have come up with at present. My attempt so far was quite quick but I wanted something new to play a few games with.

I really want something that mimics Board War Game Graphics but since both Union and Confederates are represented by the same pictures ,just varied by their respective Counter Back Ground colour ,the task is not as easy as say in Squad Battles for example where each side has its own 2d Counter Picture 'slots'.

RE: ACW mod for 2d counters
Whilst playing with ACW Forgotten Campaigns and wanting a map change I came across -
nap 2d map tiles mod by Sgt_Rock as seen here,
https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards...?tid=61846
And thought they would be perfect for an ACW title.

I converted it for use in ACW Forgotten Campaigns.

I also made a version for current NAP games with ground200 file as well (tested in Eckmuhl only).

My conversion is not perfect but works well for both of these game series in close 2d Map view (I think -only tested in 2 games). Preferable to use hex outlines since they cover some of the irregularities(jagged edges) in my conversion -they are not noticeable with hex outlines on.

Would other users be interested in my conversion and is it ok to share this since i only edited the single file 2DGroundd100.bmp to work in ACW Forgotten Campaigns and NAP Eckmuhl?

MAP MODS;
My edits of Sgt_Rock 's lovely work,

ACW version, tested in Forgotten Campaigns.

Quite like the ACW version ,works best if you try it when there is a bit of green in the map, for me the yellow and brown maps are a bit glaring. Basically green is for low elevations and brown is for high elevations.

That looks cool. I think it looks good for squad battles too.
Very easy to see the elevation changes.
