AAR. QB (animalshadow vs PoorOldSpike)
Points: Small
Map: QB Open-Rural-944x848 (313) Meet
Weather: Mist & Rain
Side: US Army
Forces: [Image: troops.png]
Opponent Side: Russian Armed Forces
Suspected enemy forces: About platoon of MBTs (T-72/T-90) and 1 or 2 motorized infantry platoon on BTRs.
Plan:
According to plan I will try to secure mentioned earlier positions, while using UAV to scan enemy entry zone trying to predict axis of attack or defence positions.

Turn 0:
Advancing on preplanned positions.

Turn 1:
UAV near main road(on north-east) spotted moving vehicles, looking like enemy MBTs.
This direction is controlled M1A2 Abrams and Bradleys from 2nd Section.
M1A2 Abrams near 1st section position immobilized due to the ground and weather conditions. Luckily he has a good position.

HQ Team:

Turn 2:
First contact!

Spotted by 1st section enemy T-90 lased Bradley, but in-time dropped smoke saves vehicles,
unfortunately 1st section team leader was down and one rifleman wounded.

On the left flank, 2nd Section spotted another T-90 and shot Javelin missile:

MAP:

Turn 3:

1ST SECTION POSITION:
Crossing open ground enemy T-90 opened his position by lasing Bradley IFV, A Team, 1 Section aiming with Javelin.

2ND SECTION POSITION:
At first seconds Javelin scored hit on enemy MBT.

Near destroyed MBT was spotted another one, Abrams in the woods received this information from 2nd Section and already aiming that direction looking for enemy tank.

Turn 4:
4th turn results so far: 3 T-90 destroyed, another one spotted.
Current losses - 1st Section, Team B Team Leader KIA, 1 Bradley destroyed.

"If you see the flash, it's already too late" - M1A2 shoots at T-90:

Turns 6-7:
2nd Section with M1A2 support on our left flank shooting on spotted infantry, trying to keep'em behind hill.
On our right flank we have a tricky situation.
Thanks to UAV we've spotted enemy MBT closing ditance with 1st Section position.

RIGHT FLANK SITUATION:

Turns 8-9:
Based on current information, PLATOON HQ is changing position trying to overwatch road between East Forest and our positions, cutting off enemy initiative.
MBTs and neighboring infantry trying to suppress potential enemy positions.

FIRE & ADVANCE PLAN:

Turns 10-11:
Based on information received during last 10 minutes, it's looking like enemy has around 4-6 MBTs(incl. 3 destroyed) and around enforced with ATGMs & MGs infantry platoon.

Turns 12-16:
Enemy T-90 destroyed Platoon HQ Bradley(crew is KIA).

Total Losses: 12 KIA(3 crews and 2 scout teams) + 3 IFVs.
Enemy Losses: 3 T-90 and unknown(due to suppressing fire on possible enemy positions) KIA.

Lost Bradley:

Turn 17:
1st Section HQ spotted T-90. 15 seconds on aiming. Shoot! 3 Seconds of flight! Boom! - T-90 destroyed!

Current situation:

Turn 18:
Enemy movement - all spotted infantry destroyed(~3 KIA).

Turn 19:
On the east, UAV spotted enemy MBT and he's rolling on 1st Section position. Bradley tries to reverse back into the woods while infantry tries to cover possible MBT interception point.

Turn 20:
1st Section Bradley spotted enemy tank and engaged with 25mm gun, scoring few good hits on weapon mount. Enemy tank drops smoke and disappears. Situation starts to look very bad for 1st Section.
[Image: 20_T_Bradley_attacks_MBT_with_25mm_cannon.jpg]

On the left flank enemy tank pops out from the woods and scores hit on 2nd Section Bradley, shortly after that T-90 switched on his second prey lasing M1A2. But good reaction from M1A2 crew saved their lives.

M1A2 turns on the laser source, boom! Target Destroyed.

Shortly after that enemy MG team moved forward, .50 volleys forced'em to stop.

Turn 21:
Enemy MG Team destroyed.

Turn 22:
Crazy Ivan on his T-90 decided that it would be a good idea to ram Bradley! IFV crew was shocked by that move, as me. :) For a whole minute Bradley was shooting 25mm gun tring to destroy optics and main weapon.
Since T-90 didn't respond with any shoot back, it's looking like his main weapon is destroyed.

Turn 23:
For a whole turn Bradley rammed T-90s armor with 25mm gun.

Current situation:

Turn 24:
Bradley crew desperately trying to destroy T-90 with 25mm gun.
On the east direction, scouts trying to secure East Forest zone.

Turns 25-27:
Possible enemy positions at East Farm zone are hammered by M1A2 fire.
East Forest is under scouts and IFVs heavy fire.

Turn 28:[/b]
PLATOON HQ Bradley and M1A2 intercepted by fire fleeing russian near East Farm.
[Image: 28_T_PLATOONHQBRD_ABR_Shootingdown_retr_inf_EAST.jpg]

At the same time 2 Scout Team with Bradley support securing East Forest Objective.

Turn 29:
Russians tries to shoot M1A2 with RPGs, but with no luck - or they miss or RPG is intercepted by APS.

Excellent AAR - thank you. Wow things started out very fast.

It looks like some of your images are not displaying because the full URL is not there. Is that something you can fix?

Thanks.
I can't edit and save this post, cause it contains more then 10 images. I added AAR in 3 posts and forum engine combined'em in one.
Maybe you can fix it?
At Turn 19 there should be added [/img] at the end of url.

RE: AAR. QB (animalshadow vs PoorOldSpike)
Congrats to Animal Shadow on his Tactical Vic, my lame excuse is that he chose "Iron" Difficulty Level, it's the most severe level and I'd never played it before, and it took some getting used to.
But I learnt a couple of valuable lessons from the game, firstly that it's best NOT to unbutton my tank commanders to try to help them spot better, as t's best to leave them UNbuttoned down in their tank where they can play with their IR spotting devices.
Secondly I devised the useful tactic of charging my tanks at ATGM-vehicles to get inside their minimum ATGM range so they couldn't fire..:)
