Help  Problem importing turns!!
Hi all,

Have been playing my regular opponent now by e-mail for a few years now. Until recently everything has been going along just fine. Unitl the arrival of the new laptop!!!!!

Windows 7

Installed the programs from matrix games WF, EF etc. and sent of the new game start turn, bob standard from the game menu since had not downloaded any others at the time.

His turn returns,............. unable to read scenario!!! wtf... lets retry.
Again ......unable to read scenario.. I start the game head to head against myself, save and reload, and off we go no problems.

He has also sent me a few new turns but I still am unable to open them when e-mailed to me.

The files work as I installed the game on the works pc (with bosses permission) to check, then had to uninstall :(

Can any one help?

Thanks

Tony

RE: Problem importing turns!!
I have a W7 as well. No issues as such.

Is it a custom scenario or stock scenario you are playing?

If custom, have you re-downloaded the scenarios too from the Blitz DB (or wherever they are from?).

I forgot to do that for one of my PBEM games when I just re-installed JTCS on my rig, it gave a similar error message I think...

I don't think it's a Windows 7 issue, as the game works in Windows 7 (I have it). Did you patch the game? Make sure you're both using v1.04? If a custom scenario, has the the scenario been upgraded maybe and you two have different versions? Password issue? Pretty much all I can think of.

Try posting to Jason at Matrix if you can't figure it out.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I too think that is indicative of a missing scenario file, although I could be wrong. As long as it is patched and all have the same scenario files, although the turn runs off the bte file, I'm running tests on some scenario's, and playing guys running different versions of the platoon files and such, no problem?

Thanks for that.

I would appear that the download from Matrix was not the full 1.04 version as I thought

Having installed I can read the sent file. Now to see if it works both ways

Thanks guys
