Avalon Hill's Third Reich for TOAW?
I have a faint recollection someone had converted the Avalon Hill's strategic boardgame Third Reich into a computer format.

In addition, I believe the game engine it was converted to was TOAW... I mean, what else could it be?

I was wondering in someone could push me to right direction. I had the boardgame and would love to see how it would play in a proper wargame engine.

To be more specific, I remember seeing the three Third Reich scenarios completed (1939-46, 1942-46 and 1944-46) as separate scenarios, and thorough testing completed to see the game behaves as expected. There was a detailed blog availabe as well. To my fustration I seemly cannot find it anymore.

A quick google revealed these scenarios, but I was not referring to these although they seem like fine scenarios as such:

http://www.the-strategist.net/RD/scenari...hird-Reich
http://www.the-strategist.net/RD/scenari...ld-War-Two

News I now bumped into this however. Anyone familiar with this, as it seems to be a very thorough modeling of the Third Reich gaming experience? Or is it just a namesake to Avalon Hill's board game?

Thanks in advance for helping me with this! Helmet Smile

RE: Avalon Hill's Third Reich for TOAW?
Hmmm... Spent more time in search for the holy grail, and bumped into this:

http://www.wargamer.com/article/2526/str...hird-reich

http://www.wargamer.com/article/2527/str...hird-reich

I am now pretty sure this was the article I was thinking of. Especially as the conversion was done against Strategic Command 2, I mean, I do not own TOAW (yet), but should the Third Reich mod have been made available for it I would have bought it on the spot... I know next to nothing about SC2 and am always hesitant on buying games I potentially end up not playing at all.

Let the seach continue... However, if any of you guys could give me the heads up on the three TOAW scenarios / mods I listed on my OP, that would be great.

Especially the second link (the scenario by "EB") seems to be a conversion that at least started as an emulation of the Avalon Hill classic. But it was completed in 2004, does it run with the latest TOAW III?

Also, the third link to wargamecollee.net seems really interesting as well as it comes with a complete, very impressive manual among being in the process of compeleted with the latest version?

I am pretty much deciding whether to buy TOAW or not based on this conversation Helmet Smile

RE: Avalon Hill's Third Reich for TOAW?
I have now read the Wargamer.com article again, and that is definitively the Third Reich conversion I was thinking about. Bummer, it seems to be a very nice interpretation of the classic game.

On a positive note, the Third Reich 1942-45 scenario for TOAW III looks like the real thing as far as TOAW engine is concerned.

I skimmed through the manual ( http://www.wargamecollege.net/2011/09/th...45-manual/ ), and would really like to hear what you guys think about it?

TOAW is not one of our most active forums, you may need to be a little patient to get the info you are after. ;)

LOL realised it's an absolute monster of a scenario as well Helmet Smile

I opened a thread at Matrix' TOAW forum and have received a few suggestions there already.

RE: Avalon Hill's Third Reich for TOAW?
I use to own TR, it was a fun game. I didn't know they had it for TOAW, may have to reinstall and get active again. What would the size modifier be for it, 500?

Ok, is this a free game?, trying to find a link. **I may have found it, is it titled A3r.zip and is a gbx file?**

No, he is creating a TR inspired scenario as we speak. It is a TOAW scenario that tries to have the scale and rules of the board game, not a huge scenario at all.

Download link is there in the thread, have another look and chip in! I still have the complete box with the TR rule set and all, unfortunately I am very much a novice with TOAW so more playtesters the better Helmet Smile
