OK...I'll bite...
Checkmate King and I are squaring off in the AAA Round III and he asked: What's the DF stand for in the HE/DF pairing in the KV-1's loadout.

I honestly couldn't say and wasn't able to find out on the magickal intertubes.

Anyone here about know?

Thanks,

Jim

RE: OK...I'll bite...
I believe that stands for "Direct Fire". So you have a HE which is for indirect fire mode, HE DF for direct fire mode and AP.
Kind Regards,
Harry

gabeeg is correct. It is to differentiate between an indirect and direct weapon.

RE: OK...I'll bite...
Does that mean that DF is a AP round for the KV-1, since the only other shell available is HE?

Looking at it right now, I think DF is the HE round, and the AP round is marked AP.

Edited 24 hours after I posted since I got it backwards the first time, sorry for any confusion.

Glad to know I was not the only one confused about whether the DF designation implied HE rounds.
