The "n" key

The "n" key
One of the most useful hotkeys is the "n" key which advances to the next unit (or stack if "alt-n" is pressed). In large scenarios it can be indispensible for ensuring orderly movement since it advances top to bottom/left to right.

However, whenever the game is saved and closed and then re-opened, the "n" function resets to the topmost/leftmost unit that has not expended its movement points. This can result in wasted time, "n-ing" through scores/hundreds of units before finally reaching the one you want to begin with.

Is there a way to enable a player to select a "start unit" to avoid this?

All Tiller games have this function. I am currently playing F'14 HBTLF with nearly 2,000 units to move/fire. This would be a functionality crowd pleaser in my house.
