I do not get an e-mail when reporting scenario results
Hi,

Probably there is something wrong in the config of my profile, but I dunno what. I don't get any automated e-mail when posting results, either me or my opponent.

On the other hand, my e-mail address is correctly set.

Anyone can help me with this?

Thanks in advance,

Spinoza.

RE: I do not get an e-mail when reporting scenario results
The email to you and your opponent is an automatic function of the site. The email is generated by the server and is probably going through your spam filter and getting flagged. I was cc'd (mods get a copy) of a game between you and Steiner44, so I know the server is sending. Some ISPs and hosting companies set very tough standards now for email. AOL for instance is so exacting I'm surprised anyone gets email at all.

Check whatever spam filters you can. Whitelist this address "[email protected]" or, if allowed, *@theblitz.club.

If using Outlook check the junk mail folder.

Lastly, bring the matter to the attention of your service provider. They can at least help you with your personal email settings.

Hope that helps,
Dave
One more thing, try checking to make sure your email address is in both of your control panels. There's the one at the top of the site on the right and there's the one I always forget about which is in the boxed area right above the forums (below the announcements) and says "Welcome back, Spinoza. You last visited: Yesterday, 07:05 PM (User CP ..... Log Out)". Both places should have your email, but if not, correct that and that might solve the problem.

Please don't ask why the two places. I just work here. :conf:

Yes, I changed my e-mail address. Is that the cause of the problem?

Thanks for your responses

Thanks for this Dave. There is nothing in the junk folder (or at least nothing coming from the Blitz site Big Grin )

Re the two control panels, I just found both and they seem to have te correct e-mail address. Note that I changed the address some days ago as I wasn't around for years and the old e-mail is long gone.

I pressume that it has to be with this e-mail change.

I don't get an e-mail either, though I've never bothered to mention it. I don't think it's the filters. Any chance whatever was wrong with Spinoza's account might also be bad with mine?

Well Spinoza has changed his email and obviously the site will continue to send to his old one, so if you have done the same then yes you both have the same issue. :)

To solve this you can change your email at the Control Panel (top RHS of any page) and then My profile.

Nope, worked through all the multiple e-mail problems a while back. They should both be the same address, accurate, and not blocked; yet, I do not receive game result e-mails.

?

RE: I do not get an e-mail when reporting scenario results
I can't recall ever getting any... if I did, it was years ago. No big deal. I periodically check the games list and delete any that are mistakes. Just curious if I'd done something wrong in the set up and they weren't going out.

Take it easy,
