Lt. Col. Robert L. Strayer, Commander 2.Battlion, 506.PIR, 101.AB Division and his command elements were dropped far from their battalion and off target. Here Strayer assembles stray units of his 506.; 502. and 508.P.I. Regiments. There was no front or rear, the enemy was all around. Through the night no working radio could be found. The objective was all that mattered, the causeway to the south that lead to Utah Beach
