Volunteers
Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a volunteer to fight for the British in Operation Sealion. Would anyone be interested?

RE: Volunteers
I'm interested. As long as it is WinSPWW2

Is this a tournament? I don't really know how they work but am willing to learn. Just email any info.

Look forward to it.

Cheers,
Cross

RE: Volunteers
OK, thanks very much, I'll get the relevent information out to you and notify your opponent where to send the files. Yes, it's a tournament but you don't have much to worry about regarding that. It's just a series of games really.

Cheers

Dan

RE: Volunteers
Great...I'll look forward to getting the files.

A couple of questions:

1. What round are we on?

2. I read that there are special FOO rules; if someone could send me copy.

3. Are the results of a battle determined by stock WinSPWW2 (which places higher premium on force preservation), or do we use the Blitz spreadsheet (which places higher value on capturing objectives)?

4. Something I read made me think there is no actual team win, but rather we are evaluated against the other people on our team; so if I get a 'minor loss' (as a British player) but this is a better result than all the other British players, I actually get an 'overwhelming victory' and 5 points. Am I right, or did I misunderstand?

Thanks,
Cross aka. Simon

RE: Volunteers
That is correct, it's scored using the shadow player system, so we are not using the spreadsheet or the standard SPWW2 system. It's explained in the rules on the website.
I just notifies your opponent and sent you the relevent info by e-mail.
There are no special FOO rules for this round, which is round 3 of 4.

RE: Volunteers
Dan, any chance of a 5th round?

RE: Volunteers
OK, I got the files from Ivolga, but I need the initial password before I can start the game.

I also got the special rules etc. Thanks for that.

BTW, I grew up in this part of England, so am familiar with the towns in the introduction! Used to hike and camp along the Ridgeway on the Downs (hills) here, and delivered beer to some of the local pubs. cheers It will be like fighting in my own back garden Big Grin

RE: Volunteers
I based this one loosely on the real "Battle of Roundway Down" during the English Civil War. The location is approximately the same aswell, within the limitations of the map editor of course.
I'll e-mail you the password asap.

Actually there is the possibility of a 5th round, I have a German defend scenario partway done.
