A Drive through Vitebsk
Balanced for PBEM Play. 60km NW of Smolensk: On July 7th, 1941, 3.PanzerGruppe attacks Vitebsk from the march. With two Panzerkorps in line they try to drive through Vitebsk and onto Smolensk. The Russian forces defending this city are some of the best the Russian has available. In particular, the 1st Mechanized Division has some of the new T-34 tanks, just now available on this front. Together with other Russian mechanized forces, this will be a challenge to the German forces. The action depicted by this scenario covers the first four days of the northern section of the Smolensk Campaign Game. This scenario has been redone with breaking the German forces down to company level as well as some of the Russian forces. The victory conditions have been rebalanced for a more even fight.
