Ethical Question

Ethical Question
I have a question, that I'm not sure if there is any club protocol on.
It regards burning the game and sending it to others.
Years ago it seemed that this was frowned upon. I think it was felt that Talonsoft should be supported by purchasing the game. Yes I did purchase all the games. On the aside, when I got EF2 I immediately burnt it. In hindsight, this was a good idea as I scratched my original and now use my burnt copy
Now with Talonsoft out of business is this an issue. On the aside again is it an issue with people burning everything under the sun. For example I still buy some DVD's but others are burnt. Even my copy of Band of Brothers was burnt. In fact I burnt so much free music over Christmas that my burner died on me !
The reason I raise the issue is I was about to start a vet / rookie teamgame and one of the members does not have EF2
I would like a response as I don't want to step on any toes

RE: Ethical Question
Hi Cam

I would say it is against the law to reproduce anything that is copyrighted but I'm not even close to being a lawyer. Just burn the damn thing and send it to him don't even ask for shipping and handling and never say anything to anyone about it ;) As long as your not making 20000 copies you should be ok cheers

RE: Ethical Question
I agree, you're simply sending a sample for him to try b4 he buys :)

RE: Ethical Question
Hello, Cam! I agree with Tide n Randy. A friend (who shall remain anonymous :whis: ) burned and sent me some games for a couple of systems I hadn't tried and wasn't sure about spending the money on. Had a blast ever since.

On the other hand, Ed picked up the SB korea CD, bought an extra and sent it to me for Xmas last year....thanks again, Ed. :)

Or.....they just wanted to pad their scores with my poor, sorry arse....LOL
