MBT dust trails
Having an issue with dust trails in MBT. Last game and current game with Old Rocky they are present anything above 3 hexes away from start point. If you move less than 3 hexes they do not appear. Map is typical European grasslands and forest. Even the concrete is producing the smoke.

Ideas?

Maybe you've chosen a desert battle?

All the battles I have seen are European wars - Typical Soviets vs Germany etc. Is there a pref for this on set up?

RE: MBT dust trails
It sll depends on the visibility value. If it is cca 80 it will generate dust trails. If it is cca 60 it will not generate them any more.

RE: MBT dust trails
Dust trails are gooot. They present opportunities for deception and misdirection that are sooo enjoyable. Is that Privates Baily and Sad Sack, out joyriding in the Colonels jeep, or is it the 2nd Armored? It's great fun to pop a small armored task force up on your opponents flank where he 'knows' nothing is there because there is no dust.
Rommel had trucks outfitted with aircraft engines and props so they could create huge dust clouds, which the English assumed were Panzers, so it's very realistic.

It is good if you are in the desert but not in wooded areas of France and Germany.

I believe dust trails will only appear in the summer months, i.e. June/August - see some of the photographs of armour in action on the Russian steppes, and there's dust clouds aplenty. If you don't like them, fight in April or October ;-))
