RE: Back to SP..wich version?
I took a quick count of reported games for the last 3 months: MBT, WW2 and H2H are very close while WaW has slightly lower numbers. I remember that someone else asked the same question awhile ago and was answered with sites to DL the versions, you should check the board for the message.

RE: Back to SP..wich version?
thank you.. i went back few pages before posting... but i missed the one you linked...

so we have:
Steel Panthers World at War (SPWAW)
Steel Panthers Main Battle Tank (WinMBT)
Steel Panthers WW2 (WinWW2)
Steel Panthers Enhanced (Mod of SPWAW v8.2 +)
Steel Panthers H2H (Mod of SPWAW v7.1 +)

So i need 5 different installation in order to play them all?

I'll probably gave a look to all of them...but i'll stick with just one version in the beginnig (ww2 scenarios for sure)

cheers

RE: Back to SP..wich version?
Just offering some opinions for you, and yes you will probably want to DL and try them all (why not, they're free).

SPWAW basic..you need it to modify it, but very few folks play straight WAW around here.

SPH2H is well liked here, I have no experience with SPWAW enhanced so can not comment. You'll need straight WAW to modify into these. The games based on WAW engine possess, IMHO, a better engine for vehicle combat, than the Shrapnel versions.

winMBT and winWW2 are both stand alone games, not mods of a vanilla version. Both games possess, IMHO, a better engine for infantry combat, than the matrix versions.

On the whole, the Shrapnel Games are better (again IMHO) because combat at this level is an infantry battle with vehicles in support. so in that regard, Shrapnel has put the emphasis where it belongs.

RE: Back to SP..wich version?
Hi and Thanks Steel

so to sum it up we have 2 main "Games"

1: win-ww2 and win-MBT (Shrapnel Games )

2: waw basic (matrix) and waw mod: H2H (blitz) and Enanched

I have DL all of them and started with a very first look at winMBT and winww2..they are pretty the same game with different equipment and timeline(and rules such as helicopters...)

spwaw 8.40 gived me some trouble and graphic glitches..the games closed once ..i'lllater on try the two waw mod

Just to practice i'll make some more offline games... where can i get more scenarios and campaigns?

Following your suggestion i'll probably stick with ww2-MBT and maybe a mod as i can try them

cheers

RE: Back to SP..wich version?
Hi Luca,

for additional scenario's and campaigns for the CAMO games you can try the respective fora for WinSPMBT and WinSPWW2. These have sections for campaigns/scenario's. These are used both for players to share their creations and for making new 'official' campaigns/scenario's available.
