So this is the thread where we will 'count the dead.' Please post all your sitreps on this running thread as Round 2 progresses. :chainsaw:

And remember, a new "Sitrep King" will be crowned for each of the first four rounds of the SFS Tournament, so four different guys will win a one year subsription to WWII Magazine (or its equivalent value on Amazon . . . let's see: perhaps Maxim, Playboy, or maybe Bowler and Dart Player's Monthly?? :grin2: )

Blocking Force turn 2 : General Tidemench stands in the operations bunker looking down at new reports that just arrived while chewing absent mindedly on an ersatz cookie. Forward observation posts have made contact with recon elements of a Russian tank brigade probably commanded by a certain Comrad General Nortski who had been tearassing around the shattered front. General Tidemench brushs crumbs from his mustache and grins thinking... Just a little closer :smg:

Col Bassonvich flicks his still smouldering cigarette dangerously close to the waiting tanker truck to the horror of his staff. With a flamboyant twirl of his leather glove he gives the signal to advance. The T34 hatch closes with a clunck, then reopens as the Col retrieves the binoculars he left lying on the turret. With a steady drone they advance towards the German lines and their destiny....

Blocking Force: Turn 3

Major Schleppenheim looks through his fieldglasses at the columns of smoke rising from the forest to the front of his position. The Russians tried to flank the position from the south General Tidemench has chosen good ground for a change. Looking through his glasses again the Major notices the outline of T34's edging their way forward from the treeline. Good ground or not if you grab the Russian bear by the tail look out for the rest of it. So said Opa Daimler once.

Sitrep: Somewhere East of Krupki

It has been 6 days since the start of Operation Bagratian and except for a few dalays the offensive has moved on virtually like clockwork. My command, the 18th Gds Tank Brigade, has been assigned the objective of sezing Krupki and ascertaining German strength in the area. Previous unconfirmed reports suggest that the Germans are beginning to transfer units, including their dreaded Tiger units, to this area to stop our attack.

Turn 1: Recon units moving West of Lebedevo ran into what appear to be Tiger tanks. Unfortunately, 2 recon units where lost. The highground West of Lebedevo must be assumed to contain other German Panzer units.

Turn 2: A small German patrol attempted to gain LOS into our advance area South of Lebedevo and paid the price. This skirmish cost the Germans 6 SPW 251/1 HT's, 2 SPW/9 75 mm HT's and several PzG inf. The recon forward continues.

Orsha Front: Oberst Karl von Dogowitz sat back in the seat of his kubelwagon and pondered the situation. He swore he'd been here in a previous life and could even remember huge green painted tanks cruching all before him. But he quickly struck down such foolish thoughts. For while it was true that the last few days had revealed such monsters as the T-34, even the size obsessed Russians couldn't have anything as monsterous as what he'd dreamed. And if they did, they couldn't be much more of a threat than those pitiful T-35s they'd found abandoned down the road a spell. Still... he had a bad feeling about what might be awaiting his men as they attempted to penetrate further East. Already, his recon had run into the Red armor cars that had shot up several of his Sdkfz 222s. Best to play it safe. Calling up his subordinates, he urged caution as they advanced forward towards their fate. But just as they were about to move forward, a young Russian boy came running up to Dogowitz with a note. It was from his opposite number on the Russian side. The man, some impossibly arrogant party goon named Gordonovich was requesting a ceasefire for the holidays. He'd be available again in about TEN DAYS????!!!!! What kind of war was this?
