Thankk to Huib, I found this site and whilst filling in my list, I hope I didn't do anything wrong, so Huib correct me when I filled in something I shouldn't have.

Since many years I'm contacting WWII veterans (both sides) for their Battle accounts, and since that I have been working on several wintercampaigns, that resulted in writing books (Battle of the Bulge - The North Shoulder) and several ones on Stalingrad. Also I started to help organising Staff Rides (Battlefield Tours) with US Army, Navy and Airforce, as well as private groups, Scouts, and other units of foreign Armies. In the past I worked with the BBC, ZDF, Oliver North War Stories, and recently with History Channel, helping them with their programmes about WWII. Since several years I'm a Honorable Member of the Stalingrad Bund Germany (that doesn't exist enaymore), and a member of several US WWII Associations who fought in the Ardennes. My next project will be on the Normandy Campaign, and in due time I will open up a site for that.

For those who are interested to read more go to some of the sites:
Battle of the Ardennes "North Shoulder" 1944-45
http://home.planet.nl/~wijer037/Bulge/default.htm

Battle for Stalingrad 1942 - 1943
http://home.planet.nl/~wijer037/HansW.html
http://www.stalingradtours.com/hanswijers.htm

Since I have been twice now to the USA and being on several Battlefield of the Civil War (War between the States) and also visited several forts out of the period of the French - Indian War (7 years War), I have become more interested in thhis time period, and hope to find some more on this, also with gaming. I still have to learna lot on this part, but I think time will learn.

Thanks Huib for getting me on this site!

HiHi

Greetings Hans, and welcome to the club.

I noticed you are in 'Boot Camp' on the ACW ladder, well, when you are ready to get out of it check out the "Hey Boot campers" post, it has 2 or 3 chaps willing to get newbies out of the dreaded 'Boot camp'.

Good luck with the Book.

All the best
