Pour out your most inner secrets to my poll.

RE: Okay, here we go again...
My last beers.........

2009 - 1 when my youngest son wanted me to have a beer with him on his 21st birthday
2008 - 1 when my oldest son wanted me to have a beer with him before he shipped to Iraq
2004 - 3 the day GE closed our Railroad Signal Engineering office in Omaha to outsource to India ending a great corps group of people who had all been together at least 6 yrs.

Neither of my sons had ever seen me take a drink before the one for my oldest shipping out to Iraq.

Four main reason why I shied away from booze..........
1 - Before I met my wife, when I did drink, the few times I went one too many, I always got drunk and sick. Don't like either feeling or the day after.

2 - When I met my wife, I did most of the driving and a DUI and possibly going to jail scared the hell out of me and I don't scare easy.

3 - I feel the cost is more than the worth.

4 - I figured if I picked up a girl before I met my wife and then my wife after we met, I'd rather remember having a great time rather than not knowing what I did at all. :)

It falls somewhere between occasional and never, leaning more towards never since I just choose not to drink without some kind of occasion involved and a rare one or once in a lifetime event if that. We just celebrated our 30th Anniversary and neither of us had a drink.

I have been offered countless beers over the years, but politely turned them down because I also decided that if I am going to have one it has to be something new that catches my interest or the best in my opinion and that would be Mich, Mich Lt or Mich Ultra in a bottle, off the ice. Must be ice cold or it's not going to happen. I have wasted a lot of the beers I had because they would get too warm before I could finish them.

As someone who loved his booze, and then started getting worried by how much I loved it, I stopped completely 11 months ago and intend to be teetotal.

I dont miss it and the extra money means I can buy more games !

Don't drink.

For a short while as a teenager I may have drank 4 times. The fact of the matter is I never liked the taste of it.
Similar was the cigarete experience. Tried once and never agin. The taste was just terrible.

Those few times I did drink as a teenager (I over drank). And as a result acted like a fool.
I came to the conclusion that I wanted to enjoy life knowing what I'm doing at every moment. And have been happy ever since. Experiencing life, yes, even the most painful things that life has to offer. I've found I like being fully aware of whats happening in each moment of my life.

Most any beer is good if the weather is hot and the beer is on ice :-)
