As some may recall, I was a child of the Analogue Age, and now as an old man have very limited skills with computers. I had a shortcut on my desktop that allowed me to open JTCS with a click, but it has disappeared. I still have a folder on desktop with all the JTCS folders therein, but would like to get my shortcut back. Any help greatly appreciated.

Rod:
I believe all you need to do is "right click" on the "Campaign Series Game Menu" and a drop down menu will give you an option to "Create a Shortcut." Click that and you will have an CS icon that you can "drag and drop" onto your PC desktop.

Did you open windows explorer, and physically look for them? Do you remember anything lately happening that would account for the disappearance? You could also try to restore to an earlier state if something really has screwed up. Just let us know, we'll do our best to get you back on track man!!
BTW, what version of windows are you running?

Open Windows and look?...no but I will (despite the unseasonably cool weather down our way. I shall wear a woolypully.)
I can remember nothing except my machine (running XP) which does minor funny stuff quite often so I give it a purge and emetic with a clean/tuneup application every couple of days. I use Iobit Advanced System Care. I have not opened JTCS for quite a while. My browser..is that the correct term?...is Mozilla Firefox.
I have the JTCS CD so am not anti removing and reloading if necessary.
Once again, thanks folks!
Next question...how to open windows explorer?
Click start, in the dialog box click help and support.
In the search box type create shortcut, click go.
Click put a shortcut on the desktop.
Follow the instructions.
I feel your pain.

Rod, if you indeed still have the JTCS available via Start menu, but not in the desktop, here's a how-to what Wolfman just said: http://www.helpwithpcs.com/tipsandtricks...ows-xp.htm In that example, a shortcut to Internet Explorer is created. You would do it with the JTCS icon of course.
If JTCS not visible anywhere, try this: http://www.uwec.edu/help/WinXP/shrtcut.htm In that case you would locate the JTCS installation under C:\Matrix Software\John Tiller Campaign Series\ folder, if my memory serves me right, and select the proper .exe file that starts the game and create a shortcut out of it.
You can create a shortcut of anything, merely by right clicking the object and dragging to the spot you want the shortcut icon to go. When you release, there'll be an option to make a shortcut.
I think, however, the shortcut in the attached zip should work. Not positive, but worth a shot. Just open the zip and put the shortcut on your desktop.
