RE: New DF'85 Mod
I've just downloaded it.

Many, many graphics missing (for example there are Leo II and Leo 2 tanks)

Tank section need a revamp urgently: in this scenario russian tanks (1985) t-72 (basic model) have HA range 4 form range 3 M1 (even IP), USA vehicles have no TIS unless a few M1A1 while russian T-80 MRR have it. German Leopard I have defense 18 and 19 while the second line t-55 have 26..., Scorpion tanks have defense 16... but Danish Leo I have defense 27...

I could continue to no end.

It have many 6-10 sized ATGM units with defense 12, HA range 1 (a t-55 have HA range 3!) also the lowest SA tank value is about 25...

Mortar vehicles with range 2 in a game with armor having HA range 4.

BO105 helos have more HA range than Apache helo.

Some Infantry is too weak against tanks, for example a BMP1 have HA 18/2, any IFV mounted infantry have HA 18/1 (dutch, belgium, USA, british, every m113)

Don't get me wrong, the scenario have potential to be great, really great but it need a revision of some values.

I like new air, how this scenario is far more international, strategies, a very strong AA umbrela, long range missiles, heavy naval aspect, rebalanced VP locations.

RE: New DF'85 Mod
I'm not agree , the value about the tank are good enough for me it's true that a 125mm can fire at 6000meters and enough true that a 81mm mortar can not.
The M1 is equipped with a 105mm wish can fire at 5000m .so less than a 125mm.
Of course this will change a lot of things ,but looks more close to a modern fight than a 2nd WW one or worst WW 1.

Well ,probably the Hot AtGM could be fired at 4000m not the TOW .

You do realise that accuracy and pentrative power at this range is about zero? Danish Leopard 1s fired HESH out to those ranges in Bosnia, but that was through the use of old modified Centurion firing tables and hand held calculators. The EMES 18 firing control system and Laserrangefinder was simply not set up to handle engagements at those ranges.

RE: New DF'85 Mod
The ballistic computer in the M1 will not calculate a range beyond 3999 meters. Also, for KE type rounds (not HEAT, which remains a constant), they lose penetration power over range exponentially, so 5000 and 6000 meters is a bit of a stretch. Of course you wouldn't hit anything at that range with a HEAT round (> 3999m) because the trajectory would be like firing a catapult.

But if you are only going after a different "feel", then by all means do it. :)

RE: New DF'85 Mod
This is an updated version of Red Sterm Rising by Bedo which contains a load of outstanding artwork which can be incorporated into all the modern games, we are spoilt for choice.

It's available in two art packs plus campaign game files from the campaigns-france web site.
