HEDGEHOG 43, POS 57 (minor win for POS)
 ![[Image: hogn.png]](http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/Competitons/hogn.png)
Although Hedgehogs deep penetration into Soviet territory overan 4 flags including this one on the rail line, I had enough remnants of Russian infantry near the other 3 behind to keep them neutral..
 ![[Image: hogax.gif]](http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/Competitons/hogax.gif)
For example back at the wheatfield Hedgehog had a German infantry squad in the church and 2 big SiG's nearby, but my beat-up Russian squads were still around on 'hide' and kept the flag grey..

I seem to be doing quite well in this tourney compared to my Trident Tourney where I lost 20 out of 25 games, but at least Trident conclusively proved that designing your own scenario and playing it many times doesn't necessarily give you an unfair advantage..:)My success in Green Light compared to Trident is a bit of a mystery to me, i've got a few theories but i'll save them til the end before publishing them..;)

			| RE: GREEN LIGHT TOURNEY
For me, it was a real headache trying to keep my German advance on track...and I cannot imagine having to do it over and over and over again so many times like POS has to. For me, I'd feel like I was stuck in the movie Groundhog Day, if I had to play dozens of Green Light games as both sides...!! (Eventually, I'd probably have my guys jumping head-first off church steeples into the pavement below, or worse. 1 time as each side was plenty for me!! haha)
I can imagine it is some help, though, to have the practice of seeing what has worked best before, etc., as long as you don't become too mechanical in what you do each new game...because the Russ does have a few minor options available in the early turns, and can still kick out some punishment against the German drive.

But full OOB's were listed beforehand, and there has been running reports on game play...so it seems the tournament has been fair to everyone. Although I wonder if POS (who can't win the Trophy regardless) feels his own success seemed to improve over time, or stay about the same?

PS. What I liked better perhaps about Trident was that you had the option of buying what you wanted and selecting the targets you wanted to capture.

"Never put off till tomorrow what you can avoid doing entirely." .

About the same mate. I've been playing CM to the same set of drills for 7 years each game, every game, just going through the motions..:)
Same with Green Light, I'm playing it with basically the same tactics and drills from the first game to the last.
The Roman Army did the same, drilling for hours every day so the drills became second nature, then simply putting them into practise on the battlefield.
"Their drills were bloodless battles, their battles were bloody drills"- Flavius Josephus 1st century AD
Hey I was born and bred in the old Roman garrison town of Leicester, England so I suppose it's in my blood,..:)

					COMBAT FOOTAGE- The Hill
![[Image: ahill.gif]](http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/Competitons/ahill.gif) Combat Wombat's KV-2 faces off against my hunting pack of 5 x Pz IV-longs coming down the road on 'hunt', it's a tough cookie and although the KV series ruled the roost in 1941, this is '42 and Jerry has now got the hardware to handle them, and my panzers quickly beat the Russian monster down with a flurry of blows for no loss.
The other pack is combing Russian infantry out of the trees like fleas out of a hound dawgs fur..

Another game but the same drill again, a tight panzer 5-pack on 'hunt' takes on Feydarkin's T-34's on the right while another pack combs Russian infantry out of the trees on the left..
On paper the odds looked even for the tank battle, 5 x PzIV-longs against 5 x T-34/76's, yet 4 out of 5 Russian machines were destroyed for no German losses. Two factors swung it the panzers way- Firstly they were crack but the T-34's were green, and secondly the panzers formation was a bit tighter than theirs..

					COMBAT FOOTAGE- The Town
![[Image: atown.gif]](http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/Competitons/atown.gif) Beatguy's panzers make a big push down the road and collide with a group of Russian armour plugging the exit from the trees..
 ![[Image: bgs.gif]](http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/Competitons/bgs.gif)
After a bitter exchange of fire 4 Russian tanks lie wrecked (red X's) for the loss of one panzer, but other T-34's down the road are getting in on the act..

BOOTIE 28, POS 72 (maj win for POS)
 ![[Image: bti.png]](http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/PoorOldSpike/Competitons/bti.png)
Bootie's panzer spearhead cuts the rail line under fire from a 45ATG (left) and 25AA (right) but I've got enough hiding Russian infantry in the vicinity to keep this flag (and the wheatfield flag) neutral.
(Hiding my defenders to keep flags neutral is another of my standard drills, the enemy can't kill you if he can't see you)

Once you get behind schedule on your spear head every flag becomes harder to gain.
