Talonsoft and Matrix game compatibility

Is it possible for me to start a game using the standard Talonsoft EF2 version and someone to be able to play it using the Matrix version ie not up to the 1.03 only the 1.02 version.

Thanks Erik just that i have a game prob with one opponent who keeps asking if ive patched to 103 although weve been playing for about 10 turns now.

Hawk..is that 100% correct??? -we know that many, if not most, Talonsoft scens, loaded into Matrix will play fine..you said so yourself a while back. So there is some degree of compatability.

If I understand VL's question correctly he is asking can he start a Talonsoft version of an EF 2 scenario sned it to someone who has the Matrix version of the same scenario.

The answer to this is no. Both players must be using Talonsoft or Matrix not both.

What I told you is you can import old Talonsoft scenarios into Matrix and most of them work just fine.

But both players have to have the same version (Talonsoft or Matrix).

Is that a bit clearer?

A very important reply. I too have found TS incompatible when I tried to start a new game with a mate who had switched to Matrix 1.03 though I think we were Ok when he was using Matrix 1.02 but am not sure.

I am running Talonsoft CS 1.03 with many collected scenarios and will continue to stay with it and them and TS gamers.
I have loaded Matrix onto an XP partition and use it to play selected Historical scenarios vs the AI. It looks as though I will have to find another "old fashioned" CS player for H2H

I have both installed; Talonsoft and Matrix, as I still PBEM both versions. There are no conflicts having both installs on the same system as they are installed separately.

I am the opponent Von Luck is refering to. He said he is using the TS version and I am using the Matrix 1.02v. And we have been able to play the scn. "Breakout from Borisev" for 10 turns now. If I understand your answer correctly you say this would be impossible because we both must have the same system (TS EF2 or Matrix, not both) to even begin to play the scn. If that is true how come we have been able to progress thus far? Althought we are experiencing problems now.

Well you gotta watch VonLuck as he gets confused from time to time. I know he is playing off of Matrix 1.02 as I am playing him and he told me that is what he is playing on.

I have to disagree, I'm running Talonsoft EFII 1.02 and have played an opponent running Matrix 1.02, the game was running fine until he installed Matrix 1.03 - that nerfed the game.
