RE:NGP^85: Range fire Soviet and NATO tanks?

The differences is with the fire control computer / stabilization on the M60A3, which was an upgrade so that it was similar in effectiveness to the M1A0. The M60 / M60A1 etc would be a range of 1.

To not find yet data about maximum aimed range for tank M60A3.

The help is necessary.

RE: NGP^85: Range fire Soviet and NATO tanks?

					Just one stupid question:

I thought that:
1 hex range = 0 - 1609 m,
2 hexes = 1610 - 3218 m,
3 hexes = 3219 - 4827 m,
and so on.

In that case, a tank firing at range 2100 m has range of fire = 2 hexes,
and a tank firing at range 1600 m has range of fire = 1 hex.
But I can see, it isn't so obvious?
I can't understand the manner of hex range counting...
Could somebody explain me that?

Michal

RE:NGP^85: Range fire Soviet and NATO tanks?

T-72A has laser range finder, electronic fire control system.
(stabiliser gun - Yes).
 T-72A - Wikipedia
How much these systems are worse, than at M60A3, Leopard-1A5?
It turns out, what gun M68E1 modified L7 (max aimed range =2400 - 2500m) does not limit shooting M60A3 on 2 miles?
It is necessary to consider parameters of a gun and fire control system together.

Then I shall repeat, how much fire control system T-72A is worse than at M60A3, Leopard1A5?

P.S.: I Shall note, that fire control system than tank Leopard-1A5 is not worse, than at M60A3 - they should have an identical range of shooting.
 Leopard-1A5 -- Wikipedia
It is necessary to find out quality fire control system tank T-72A ?

P.S.: Excuse for my English, I use the machine translator.

RE: NGP^85: Range fire Soviet and NATO tanks?

The M-60a3 series of tanks has been known to hit targets out to 3000m, thats info from a actual M-60a3 tanker that i know and i talk to Michal(who posted above)who is an PACT expert in Warsaw and the Poles didnt have the ATGM equip T-72 and most likely the Czechs and E German didnt have it either they had the T-72a,M,M1 models so they didnt have a range over 2100m at all, so it doesn't look like they should have a range of 2. Now the Soviets in GSFG always got the upgrade equip first so there is a chance at least some units have it, for me its easy my oob is for 1989 and the only Soviet T-72 equip units were CGF and they were all upgraded. Like Volcano Man said u start from the middle and that would put 2 hexes away at 2400m, its not a perfect way of doing it but there is no perfect way, u have to make guidelines in games to follow and stick with it so i would c anything under 2400m is 1 hex and anything over is 2. Leo1 has eff range of 2400m.
