Echelon Movement

Perhaps I've never noticed it before or maybe I just got lucky?

When moving an entire company via "echelon movement" during a WF game, I watched several units march through a mine field as if it didn't even exist. The units proceeded through the mined hex to the following hex, without the usual simulated mine explosion and no units were disrupted.

What gives?

I guess it should be added that I lost two tanks moving through that same minefield with regular movement two turns prior.
So it is an active field
