Panzer Battles 2 - The Official Teaser Thread

RE: Panzer Battles 2 - The Official Teaser Thread
A little question... i notice now in home the wagon (last pic you post, germans have one and part of a second) and the Kangaroo... they work like a vehicle unit... soft halftrack for wagon and maybe more "tank" the kangaroo or they are a special vehicle with their own features??? i think they are allways in travel mode, no deployed status.

Thanks.

Just a quick note to say how much I am enjoying this thread and the information about the upcoming game; it's very much looking like a must have for any serious wargamer.  Thanks!

If you need additional proof readers, I'm more than willing to help.

Thanks ComradeP & Wiggum,

I think we're ok but will call on you if required.

We are close to completing the Visual OB and will probably put that up for peer review before release.

You could certainly assist there.

Thanks,

David

I thought we had mentioned these?

Essentially there are three kinds of vehicles for carrying units;

  • Landing craft can take 40 men (or equivalent) each. These are the only units that can carry non foot infantry.
  • Specialised Carriers, whether they be armoured, soft halftracks or trucks can carry 10 men for each vehicle. They carried unit must be foot infantry.
  • Tanks etc, these are the same as the tanks in Kursk and can carry 5 men per vehicle with a lot of negatives.

We have essentially included dedicated carriers and trucks in a number of cases where formations were temporarily motorised. For example, 915 Infanterie Regt (352 Infanterie Division) was the Korps reserve and was temporarily motorised. In this case we have given it trucks to carry units around in. The same thing for Von der Heydtes 6th FJ Regt. This had enough motorisation for one of the three FJ battalions and the player gets to decide which unit to motorise.

Chris,

Thanks for the kind comment. It's hard to judge the interest level here. Not a lot of people are posting in this thread other than a few regulars Helmet Wink

I went back and had a look at the original Kursk teaser thread and realised that though I thought we were doing well with Normandy with nearly 29K views, I was shocked to see there has been almost 10x that amount with over 250K views for Kursk!!!

My opinion only - but I think there's plenty of interest.  I follow the thread regularly but will save my questions - if any - for post-release.

Thanks for keeping us up to date.   Helmet Smile

Well, it was an entirely new series coming up, so I guess it was linked to on various forums. This thread has attracted less attention so far on the wargame websites I visit.

Normandy's a popular battlefield, and considering how big the game is in terms of area covered and scenarios, I'm sure it will be quite popular.

No, i only remember your post in the first scen review talking about a system to "rescue" maroon units in water hexes but nothing about a "transport system" like you post.

I like the idea of carriers out of tanks (like in Kursk) because i suppose you can add them as you need like supply units no??? i refer you deploy in scen editor an infantry unit and you can place carrier units for them... i am wrong???

Well, interest for game is present but more diluted on these days with the ton of releases... and maybe Normandy is a little overexploited hehehe.

PD: i try attract more guys to the "dark side" but without a good bite... you never think in build a Death Star to place over it a "join to JT, we have big toys for you"???  Big Grin2
