RE: 1914 Valour - FWWC Tournament Round 4
I guess it pays to read rules (and manuals) but honestly I have never once looked at the "scoring rules" for any of these tournaments and tried to determine how I may be eligible for "bonus points". I had no idea that someone resigning and giving their opponent a Major would somehow be slighting their score. I guess I slighted myself in this round because once I had a Major on Turn9 or so I stopped pushing real hard, it seemed cruel to beat up on an opponent who had already lost the game by a Major. I'm retired and don't want to work hard, I see the scoring rules in all of the Tournaments and I'm just like ..."I'll do the best I can and see where I end up". I couldn't tell you the math behind it (I'm sure I could if I wanted to slow down, read it, and process it) because honestly that's time away from playing. I play a turn, send it back to my opponent, engage in some conversation, and it's on the the next one in the in box, lather, rinse, repeat. Nothing worse in my happy little world than going to the in box and not having something to work on.
So, do whatever makes sense on the rules, it's all good. In the words of the Bard "The Play's the Thing'"
