Setting 'Advantage' - any thoughts?

Have you had any experience setting 'Advantage' when preparing a new PBEM battle?

If so, how did you and your opponent determine the appropriate setting?  What factors did you take into consideration?

Did you find it helpful?  Do you feel it led to a better battle experience?
