Likely true with regard to Austria, but it is going to take time, likely more than 2 days, due to nature of the austrian defence (the cornerstone of austrian defensive strategy: make any possible perceived operational or tactical benefit from invading Austria worthless through incessant delays and blocking of main lines of communications for as long as possible). As for NATO it will likely be reliant on posture and mobilization state of the respective parties when war breaks out. If it is an "out of the barracks attack", then yes, the Danube will likely be impossible to hold for long.
I have no doubt that Austria will likely be bowled over in BootB, but the VP value of those turrets might mean that WAPA has too much to gain by doing so. On the other hand, it might merely be a minor problem (lots of VPs to scarf up for both parties elsewhere). Then again, 4000 VPs are nothing to sneer at in a close run game.
