I play with the sound off. The sounds of battle irritate the hell out of my wife. or they attract a child that otherwise would have remained in another room. I was aware other players used sound to confuse, so I don't really consider it a handicap.

I do watch the replays. I would think not watching the replays would be a handicap. However, with really large scenarios, which I rarely play, I'm tempted to forego the replay.
