Funny story, but unfortunately HMS Britannia is the Royal Yacht, not an aircraft carrier. So I have to doubt the "actual" part of the story.

I'm also not sure that the Royal Navy uses the term Chief of Naval Operations, either, though the US Navy certainly does. I believe the RN uses First Sea Lord or Chief of Naval Staff.
