A major victory for the Norwegians in our game.
I attacked the paratroopers dropping mid map, which turned the game to the Norwegian side.

Interesting to know if any of the German players had any success with their Schutzens in the far left boats?
Seemed to be fish in a barrel for the Norwegian early...

I'd be shocked if any Axis player were able to make an opposed amphibious assault work. Even if by some miracle you were able to get some troops ashore, the point losses among the boats alone (which don't have crews) would virtually guarantee a loss.

In our game, Kernel t did a nice job with his amphibious landing. He swung all his boats around to his right (to my Norwegians’ left) and landed almost everyone safely. The only instance of German losses was when one of my airstrikes emptied out one of his boats.

Those Germans advanced into town and our battle turned into a door-to-door urban street fight. It was a grind of arty, smoke and cat-and-mouse tactics.

Landing everyone to the west (away from the Norwegian defenses) is basically the only option for the seaborne troops to have any success/survival.

In my game, it took the lives of a lot of schutzen, plus their boats, before I figured this out. Even then, a lucky (or from my perspective, unlucky) map-based artillery strike from General Lee wiped out almost all of the surviving infantrymen, just as they were about to disembark.

RE: World in Flames Redux
The only way the Germans can land their boats without massive casualties is by moving them to the extreme right and then landing them.  They then have to double time every other turn to potentially get into the mix.

Usually, the paratroopers have to win this one pretty much on their own.

Supreme Leader of Allies Lord Scud...

Reporting a Major Victory for dawags over Colonel Slack-Goodspeed in Terror at Borisov.

Quick and Bloody battle.
Both Germans and Russians ran out of units before the final game turn.
But Russians held all objectives and tallied more points for the Major Victory.

Thanks to Jon for the game!

RE: World in Flames Redux
Schwerpunkt75 (Germans) and I (Soviets) just finished our battle. I pulled out a Major Victory (by one point).

We had a similar experience to dawags and Colonel Slack-Goodspeed. Both team took severe losses, but the Soviets held sufficient VP locations to secure the win.

Cheers,

Nort

Hello All,

The Axis is happy to report a major win verses General Lee Ensayne.

It was a good fight with lots of carnage.

Nort warned me and now I know why. GeneraloberstBalck77 beat my butt bad. Fortunately, I don't have much of a butt to beat these days, but that's besides the point. Major win for the axis.

Congrats Sascha!

Outlaw Josey Wales and I have finished our game.
A tough fight and the scout cars took it on the chin for both sides. Shocked Dizzy

Minor Allied Victory.
