I surrendered in our game - you wiped me out to a man.

Yikes - probably my worst showing against you and that's saying something given some of my first battles I was very green and lost spectacularly. Nicely done.

Thanks for the game, it was a lot of fun.

Its nice to have some new units. My apologies again for so much air/arty cheese. It would have been a very different battle without it.

Those Leos can sure take a punch. The one Leo you advanced into the forest, and I hit it with the Shilka and the half dozen or so RPG rounds. My anti-tank guys kept dying, so I had to move even more in to finish off the tank.

A lot of the time, I was expecting you to set off an Arty trap as I slowly advanced.

Are you up for a rematch? You can pick the settings and sides. Perhaps I could play regular soviet army against you're CDN, with your choice of ME, P, AK,AT.

Sure, I'm up for getting trounced again.

I think it's your turn to be CDN. Lets go with something slightly bigger with some armour. Mechanized Soviet Probe against a CDN defence. It will take me a beat to set it up.

You absolutely trounced me in this one.

I counted the attributed casualties from my guys and it was 47 which means your own helos accounted for half of your casualties. Ouch

As requested here the the last three leos that were strafed several times by the auto-cannons. I am not sure how the one got away without a scratch.

Your FO and air controllers had absolutely astounding kill counts. Well done.

As for artillery - how boring. My actual plan was to hold you up with dismounted platoons while a mechanized platoon hidden in the valley moved to attack on a flank. Those guys were absolutely shredded by the helos and ever contributed anything to attacking you.

Soviet Probes CDN, medium sized, sounds good to me.

As for this last outcome, I was a one trick pony.  Air and Arty. Had the map been bigger, even that wouldn't have worked.
I tried to simulate a meat assault with helo strafing instead of drones.

I took Veteran level helo's (at least I think I did) to help mitigate friendly fire, but even that wasn't enough. Oh well, in true soviet style, I'll just list them as 'missing'.

Had I used BMDs, your Leos would have ate them alive. Going in with a helo drop was my best bet.

Thanks for sharing the armour damage. This confirms my concern that rockets and MGs do little to tanks even from a top attack.

It was a lot of fun though. And now you can have your revenge on me. I'll get some improvised maple sticky bombs ready to handle the unending horde of BTRs and T-72s.

Oh those damaged Leos were not hit by helo rockets only auto cannons. Those are the last three you KO'ed so the rockets were used up by then. I don't recall specific effects by helo rockets but these guys were not subject to them.

Just be clear.

Tomorrow I will likely have enough time to get a new game setup.

RE: CWCM CDN Looking for Oppoents
Oh I had a different thought. I have a scenario that's half done - map done, forces picked, limited sanity testing. But no briefing written and no AI plans. Care to try it out H2H?

I didn't get far enough to get it into the game release but I would like to finish it. Here's the background.

In 1977 my father was 2IC of 1 RCR in London not long after they were rotated out of Germany. At that time 3 RCR was stationed in Germany. My theory is that if the balloon had gone up they would have sent 1 RCR back asap. So, assuming there was enough time...

The scenario is the Soviet attackers have pushed 3 RCR back and are chasing them further. 1 RCR has arrived and is setting up a defensive line but they need more time. So, some of their AT elements and some pioneers have been sent forward under the command of the 2IC to help the rear elements of a company of 3 RCR hold the soviet advance at a choke point.

Both elements have been fighting for days now and are not a full strength. The soviets have out paced their artillery and so don't have any *more* fire support from them. The need to by pass the town and secure the choke point so they can keep the pressure going.

The Canadians need to prevent that from happening while not loosing too many AT assets they are going to need later.

I don't have any objectives set yet nor a time limit to match so I have a little work to do.

Let me know what you think.

This sounds like a cool setup up. I'm all in!

Sorry for the delay in reply, Blitz doesn't always send me a noft of replies even though I have that optioned checked.

RE: CWCM CDN Looking for Oppoents
Oh man I know I am seriously behind on this. I will get there I promise. As I mentioned we are moving and this weekend turned into a minor disaster. We discovered mould around a window and wet carpet in the basement. I'm scrambling to get some thing done before we actually move in. We have a week or so left before we plan to move in and were getting some work done.

Needless to day I have not had a lot of time to get this scenario sorted and started.

No worries at all Ian!

You take what ever time you need.

I hope things work out with the move.
