News  JTCS 2.04 BETA
Please try this new beta and let us know if it helps your game. To install this update you can download from this link HERE or by going to your John Tiller's Campaign Series File Downloads in the Matrix My Page section of the webite or from the game's store page. Ensure that you unzip the file after it successfully downloads and run the update installer.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We have seen a number of reports of a white screen issue that seems to be mostly affecting laptops with hybrid GPU setups (e.g. Intel + Nvidia). This public beta includes a code fix that we're hoping will address the vast majority of cases. If you're still experiencing a white screen issue, we recommend updating your Intel Graphics Drivers to the latest version. Please see this link and associated thread for more info HERE.

Also, we'd like to focus player attention on testing out Rising Sun. If you encounter issues loading Rising Sun scenarios or severe map glitches, please try the following steps:
1. Check that you have the NVidia App installed.
2. Open the NVidia App and make sure that the NVidia Overlay is toggled off.
3. Restart.
4. Run Rising Sun.

If you experience any other issues with Rising Sun, or this public beta, please let us know.

A typo for Yelnia: Hell by any other name is the culprit for a scenario crash.

The revised file is attached. Unzip and copy and paste it into the EAST FRONT folder.

I am guessing we are upping the version number again by one point, so after the 2.03 and 2.04 Public Betas the official release version will be numbered 2.05

I am quite liking their Public Beta approach, btw.

RE: JTCS 2.04 BETA
Yes, me too.

Here are some notes from the Matrix Forum so they don't get lost.

Quote:Hi all,

so far, I've only had time for a few quick tests.

- WF: Scen "TT_Britain v Germany_coastal_Med_01" doesn't start -> "Map not found"
- WF: Greek M97 75mm Field Guns (P15107) are not capable of firing (same in 2.03, perhaps always)

- I'm not sure if all new graphics made it to the update. At least the Bersaglieri did not and the UK carriers are from 9/98.
- Where can I find the EF "Arctic Front" scenarios?

The Arnhem scenario should have been deleted as it wasn't ready.

That's an issue with the installer.

RE: JTCS 2.04 BETA
There's one more little thing I could add to JTCS without a fear of breaking up things I believe: making the targeting tooltip texts a tad more informative.

At the moment, when targeting and you point at a hex containing enemy units, but not at an unit specifically, the range adjusted hard and soft attack values are presented as 20/7. Point at a unit specifically, and with this example, the tooltip changes to 3 - Sho't Kal @ 20.

I could do this instead:

What do you guys think? Leave tooltips as they are? Adjust for more information? Let me knoiw.

RE: JTCS 2.04 BETA
Too much info. The man on the ground didn't/doesn't have that much info. I'd rather more time is spent on new scenarios and campaigns and the new Campaign Series. One thing with the Dynamic Campaigns is I would like to see better initial deployments. Don't want to see HQs and arty out front.
