I'm surprised the Spitfire is! The later war Spit marks were splended machines.
My personal favorite is the Jug but I voted for the Spitfire! :)

Ok I'll advance the argument for the ME109 - a prewar fighter that was still seeing frontline service at the end of the war - served in every European theater and although maybe not the best individual plane acquitted itself against all opponents
