100600 Z July 1943.
Recce Task Force (RTF) TOMMY is ready to cross the line of departure.
RTF TOMMY, a Mechanized Battalion is ordered to scout in advance of an Allied Corps.
For almost two weeks the RTF did their preparations and rehearsals and in a couple of minutes they will be ready to start their engines.
RTF TOMMY is fully mechanized force tailor made for it's mission: a swift, aggressive & deep advance into the enemy occupied valley to link up with the paratroopers and capture the main bridge over the river SAVOLNA.

Deep in the valley the Italian garrison in the little picturesque town of STRAGIATELLA were alerted by multiple aircraft flying over overhead that night but during the last few weeks there has been a lot of enemy air activity so no further measures where taken by the Italians. The Germans however were at a higher state of alert. Small mobile patrols are active in the area and deeper in the valley in the vicinity of BERGAMI is a Quick Reaction Force on a high alert watching for partisans that have been active recently.
In the vicinity of the bridges over the river SAVOLNA and TIRIONO are small security elements guarding the area.

Finally, Lt.col Tommy checked his watch and then ordered his units: Go!!
