Assault Infantry??

I have been doing some editing of one of my scenarios, for Bulge'44, and have noticed in the oob editor that one possible unit type is Assault Inf. I have no memory of seeing this before, maybe my poor memory though, and there seems to be no mention of this in the manual.

Anybody know anything about this?

Never used the OOB editor but are Assault Infantry just Sturm troops you know the one's with the pretty vertical arrow symbol.
