Modern vs PZC
I am pretty comfortable with my understanding of the unit capabilities in the PZC series. I am thinking of trying the Modern series. I know there are a lot more units to understand and different capabilities for infantry, artillery and tanks when compared to PZC.
Is it a steep learning curve to go from PZC to Modern?

Dunno. I personally graduated from the Campaign series to MC and found it quite intuitive.

James - if you know PzC, you will be right at home with MC. You should skim through the User doc for thigs like Helicopters, WMD, Artillery Mines and other concepts you need to be aware of - but it is a very similar system overall.
